Brightonwoods Summer Orchard Tour
Saturday, August 2, 2025 (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (CDT)
Description
Tour one of Seno K/RLT Conservancy’s working conservation easements - Brightonwoods Orchard! Join Brightonwoods landowner Bill Stone for a tour of the orchard to learn all about apple history and the history of Brightonwoods Orchard itself and its protection via conservation easement, modern “designer” apples, what it really takes to grow apples, and what goes into processing apples for apple cider production. Get a taste of some of the early season apples, apple cider, and take a peek at other businesses onsite; Glas Spreadable Cheese and AeppelTreow Winery & Distillery! This is a family-friendly tour - families welcome!
Though the guided tour ends at noon Brightonwoods invites attendees to stay and enjoy the property after the tour, bring a lunch and enjoy it at the orchard, walk the trails, or visit the winery and distillery! A rare chance to enjoy the orchard before it opens for the season!
This is a free program but we request people register in advance so we know how many to expect.
Accessibility: Attendees will be transported around to the different sections of the property by a trailer to learn and visit the different areas, but will need to be able to get on and off the trailer via steps, and walk on slightly uneven surfaces (grass and gravel) for portions of the tour. If you have other accessibility questions we can address, please reach out to Bill at whstone41@me.com
